| Welcome
Welcome to the music classes page. Our students at CK are busy not just learning to sing, but also reading & writing music, dancing and playing instruments. I hope you find the information below helpful to you and your child. Remember to visit the K-LOVE website for the free music download (1 per week). They feature a different Christian artist every week. And as Britt Nicole says...you are worth more than gold! Talent Show
Congratulations to the names below who made it into the talent show this year. Remember....The Talent Show will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd at 7:00PM. All students named below are required to attend the two MANDATORY practices in their entirety. Anyone unable to attend both of the mandatory practices will not be allowed to perform at the talent show. Students must remain for the entire practice sessions (no early dismissals). Students should quietly work on homework or read while others are performing. Talking, texting, running, dancing and practicing on your own is not allowed and may result in not being allowed to perform.
While at the practices students may do homework, eat an after school snack (if they bring one) and respectfully watch others practice on stage. Practice will end at 4:30 and parents may pick up their child at the AB at this time. Any student who has not been picked up by 4:40 will be taken to extended day. During the night of the Talent Show, students must be in their assigned seats (and remain there until their perfromance time) by 6:45. Due to proper concert etiquette, protocol and basic respect for others, all students are to stay until the event has ended.Students who are unable to follow these rules and guidelines may not be allowed to participate in the talent show. Those students not chosen to perform at the talent show are welcome to perform in front of their classmates at the end of the year during music/gym classes. You should all be proud of your efforts - I know I'm proud of everyone who tried out!Practice Dates: Monday, May 20th and Tuesday, May 21st (from 2:45-4:30)Talent Show Date: Wednesday, May 23rd at 7:00 (all students must be in their seats by 6:45 and remain there)Hosts: Ben Albert, Matthew Prater & Keegan Shannon Student Director: Louise Hafemesiter Assistant Student Director: Sarah Walz Sound Tech: Anne Bento Assistant Sound Tech: (still need) Spotlight: (still need) Assistant Spotlight: (still need) Stage Curtain: Jonathan Angel Assistant Curtain & Stage Hand: Gretchen Sieks Stage Hand: Miranda LaVoy Reagan Pike (KH), Cameron Tracy (KH) Julia Hanus (KH) Hannah Keil (1R), Sarah Keil (3MI) Caleb Albert (1R), Jack Gehring (1R) Grace Giannetti (2B), Meara Facey (2R) Aidan McCormick (2R), Dylan McCormick (2R), Nathan Firsdon (2B) Johanna Grzybowski (2R), Mariah Stierman (2B) Mary Kathleen Grzybowski (3MI) Seneca Klockowski (3MO), Chloe McPhillips (4M), Kaylin Meneilly (4C), Emma Stammen (4C) Gus Rahe (4M) Olivia LeBlanc (4M) Ainsley Pike (4M) Mia Digby (4M), Amanda Drees (4C) Charlie Grel (4C) Morgan Baker (4M), Paige Roberts (4M) Nina Echelmeyer (4M), Alexa Simpson (4C) Sam Albert (4C), Vincent Ferarri (4M), Joey Hoppenjans (4C) Olivia Brodin (4C) Carissa Kolcun (4M), Abby Robertson (4C), Olivia Sulaica (4M) Jessica Thompson (5W) Jenna Williams (5W) Bella Becker (5L), Maddie Evans (5L) Nathan Michalak (6B) Audrey Chisholm (7A), Emily Schroeder (7A), Gretchen Thomas (7R), Michael Young (7R) Madison Hickey (8S) Emily Huss (8C), Megan Turi (8C) Musician's Prayer We start each class out with this "musician's prayer." Oh, Lord, please bless my music That it might glorify Your name, May using it to serve You Always be my aim Let it be a witness To Your majesty and love And remind us that You're watching From Your throne above Oh, Lord, I ask for guidance in everything I do And pray You'll make my music and instrument for You. Featured "Songs of the Day" After saying the "Musician's Prayer," each class watches/listens to a featured "song of the day." Below is a list of songs that have been featured as a "Song of the Day" during the 2012-2013 school year. All artists listed below are contemporary Christian artists and most of the songs can be purchased through iTunes and/or Amazon. God Rocks, Living Stones, Beach Stones, Flint Rockly, Soul Stones and Beach Stones songs can be purchased directly from the GodRocks website here. Read more: Featured "Songs of the Day" Homework
Click on "Read More" to see the homework table for grades 1-8. All 6th, 7th and 8th graders will need to download the 2 songs they chose onto their listening devices (or onto a flash drive). They will need to have these as well as ear buds or head phones throughout at least April.
