Christ the King Academics

^{_{Christ the King School is actually three schools in one.   An early learning center focuses on preschool (three and four year olds) and kindergarten.  The elementary school is grades one through five and the middle school is grades six, seven and eight.}}

^{_{All three areas have been accredited through OCSSA.  A set of stringent standards must be met to achieve accreditation.  Additionally, a Continuous Improvement Plan must be approved that includes strategies and benchmarks to achieve both Catholic Identity and Student Performance goals.}}

^{_{The curriculum for all grades is aligned to the Ohio State Content Standards and the Diocesan Course of Study.  Teachers and students use a variety of textbooks and resource materials to meet these benchmarks.  Instruction is customized to meet the unique learning style and ability level of each student.  Technology is used in the classroom and in the computer lab to enhance learning and prepare students for the demands of the workforce in the twenty-first century.}}  

^{_{There are two classes at each grade level at Christ the King and each teacher is certified by the Ohio Department of Education.  Most of the teachers have achieved Highly Qualified Status.  Preschool, kindergarten and first grades have teacher assistants who hold teacher certification to help in the learning process for our youngest students.  Christ the King also employs two reading specialists and a remedial specialist to help with our special needs students.}}

^{_{Our high achieving students are challenged with honors math and honors Spanish.  These classes allow students to “test out” of freshman math and Spanish classes in high school, thereby advancing their studies in preparation for college.}}
